You might wonder how Co-Ownership of a with Reve is different from a timeshare. The two share a similarity that both timeshares and Co-Ownership limit the availability of use of the asset, in this case an RV, as it is being used by multiple people. This, however, is really the only thing timeshares and Co-Ownership share in common.
With Reve, you physically own a fraction of an RV. Your share is real property, not simply a block of time. This is different from a timeshare purchase where typically you’d own the right to use the property for a period of time, not the property itself.
Since your Reve RV is a real asset, its value is determined by the market. You have equity in the RV that you can access if you decide to sell your share. As long as there are people who want to own that model of RV, you can reasonably expect to find an interested buyer. For timeshare owners, resale is more complicated and stressful. For one, there is not a large amount of demand for timeshares which makes selling difficult. Additionally, because you are selling a contract rather than an asset, fractional or otherwise, the process is more complicated and harder to navigate. This difficulty is something timeshare companies purposefully impose to retain customers. It is so difficult in fact, a niche industry has propped up to help timeshare owners get out of their timeshare obligations.
If you are yet not convinced that Co-Ownership is different from timesharing, consider this; as an RV Co-Owner you can elect to remove Reve entirely from managing your RV. This means no more monthly service fee to Reve. In this scenario, the LLC and the RV would be managed by the owners or another elected manager. This is drastically different from the relationship timeshare “owners” have with their property managers, which are not opt-out. Reve is incentivized to provide a service you enjoy, continually, not just at sign-up. We know if our customers are unhappy with the RV managerial services provided, we will lose customers, something we are committed to never experiencing.
